Jason Noon is the visionary founder and frontman of Lights Out Project, a psychedelic island‑fusion jam band that blends festival energy with conscious lyrics.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Florida, Jason grew up as a lifelong surfer and musician, cutting his teeth in garage bands and chasing waves from his early teens.
After co‑writing and playing bass in the reggae‑infused group Indicasol, he yearned to sing his own songs—so in 2007 he launched Lights Out Project and relocated to Oahu’s north shore, where surfing and songwriting went hand in hand.
His radical vision turned Lights Out Project into a collective of over 40 rotating musicians across Hawaii and Florida, enabling dynamic collaborations and festival‑ready performances far beyond the confines of a traditional band
In 2010 Jason brought his honed sound back to Florida’s barrier islands, where he continues to lead Lights Out Project at local favorites like Captain Hiram’s Summer Reggae Series and Malabackyard Music Festival.
Beyond touring, Jason channels his creative energy into Garden House Studios as owner and mix engineer, and performs as a vinyl turntablist and club DJ under the moniker DJLO.
An adventurer at heart, he often shares maritime snapshots aboard his beloved S.S. Dragonpoint—an inspiration behind our new Dragon Point collection—and a fitting emblem of his free‑spirited artistry.
